At HOG, we understand that each individual has unique needs, abilities, and preferences when it comes to their daily care. We recognize the unmatched comfort and support that family members provide, which is why we developed the Family Caregiver Program. This program allows HCBS participants to live with a family member who serves as their caregiver, offering essential daily services and support.
Family caregivers are compensated at a rate of 70% of the Medicaid payment, depending on the service category. We employ family caregivers as staff members and equip them with essential training, including CPR, First Aid, Maltreatment and Abuse and Neglect Education (MANE), and medication administration
Family caregiver Services include:
- Basic and Enhanced Homemaker Services and Community Connectors through the DD Waiver.
- Personal Care Services through our EBD Waiver program.
- Respite Care: To ensure the safety and well-being of our participants, HOG employs a relative outside of the primary caregiver to provide respite care when the primary caregiver is unavailable.
